Abstract
The eponym Klingsor syndrome has been used to describe the act of genital selfmutilation associated with religious delusions. Genital self-mutilation is a severe form of self-injurious behaviour described very occasionally in psychotic disorders. It may be due to the result of a delusional belief or a response to hallucinatory experiences. Other situations ascribed are sexual conflicts, body image distortion, internalized aggression and suicidal intent. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is chronic distressing anxiety disorder associated with significant functional impairment. It ranks fourth among the common mental disor ders. We present a case of genital self mutilation in obsessive compulsive disorder in a 54 years old man.
