An interesting case of Astasia abasia

Abstract
A 45 years old female presented in Neurology Op with difficulty during standing and walking of acute onset of 5 days duration. she is unable to stand and walk without assistance. She had difficulty during standing, had wide based gait. When ask to walk, she dry to fall and supported bystanders. But she is able to move both the lower limbs when lying in bed. She is subjected to detailed neurological examination including Neuro imaging. Detailed neurological examination showed no neurological deficit. Investigation were within normal limits. She is referred to Psychiatry Op, on evaluation she is diagnosed as a case of Dissociative conversion disorder. By repeated evaluation specific conflict elicited and suggestions were given. Aversion therapy given and patient improved symptomatically.
