Abstract
The analysis of the phenomenon of strategic communications as a factor of the modern historical process is carried out. The arsenal of communication tools and methods used by leading states to implement strategic communications has been clarified. It was determined that strategic communications have gained an important place in the practice of the leading states of the world, attracted the attention of civil society and are actively explored by representatives of various branches of science. It is established that, first of all, strategic communications are aimed at professionally organized promotion by the state in the national and foreign information space of values, interests and goals by coordinated and systematic actions of all subjects of the socio-political process. Strategic communications as well contribute to the creation of an effective system of warning and countering destructive information influences.
