Abstract
The capital of the Genghis Khan empire, which has an important place in world history, was Karakurum city. This city, which was the capital of the Mongolian and Turkish empires, has an important place both strategically and geographically. Geographically, Karakurum, which was founded in the most advantageous location of Mongolia, has an important place in the formation of steppe civilization as a cosmopolitan meeting point on the Silk Road. In this article will be examined the historical, geographical, cultural and strategic structure of the city of Karakurum, which has been the capital of Turks and Mongols throughout history.
