Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of petroglyphs of Azerbaijan and Central Asia. Zoomorphic images related to the Iron Age are subjected to comparative analysis. It is noted that the Iron Age is characterized by a large number of zoomorphic images represented in the form of drawings of mountain goats and rams found on petroglyphs of both regions. A comparison of zoomorphic images of Altai and Azerbaijan indicates the presence of a similar manner of execution. A distinctive feature of zoomorphic images on the petroglyphs of both regions is the different drawing technique, where the Gobustan petroglyph is made using the scratching technique, and the Altai one is made using the knockout method
