Abstract
In the present work the surface integrity of Electrical Discharge Machined surface AISI D2 steel with addition of Silicon and Aluminium powder into dielectric is studied. The detailed experimental study is performed by varying Current, Pulse on time and powder concentration in order to analyse the surface integrity of the machined surface. The formation of recast layer, surface roughness and the surface crack density formed is observed. The results show that surface crack density, white layer thickness and surface roughness is less with aluminium powder than with silicon powder added to dielectric of EDM
