Abstract
Scrap is widely used in steel production through EAf route. The chemical and mechanical properties of scrap widely varies which influence quality of steel .hence scrap mixing is not an easy task to obtain the required chemical composition of final product.. The steel generation schedule shall meet the target dates to meet customer satisfaction. The problem is modeled as a chance constrained linear programming problem with inclusion of tardiness minimization. The sequence of charges for minimizing the tardiness which in turn helps raw material planning in advance
