Abstract

Background. The article deals with medical and social characteristics (“portrait”) of patients with chronic dermatoses living in Moscow. Aim. To analyse the features of medical and social characteristics and medical activity of patients with chronic dermatoses. Materials and Methods. Carrying out the present research questionnaire survey of 412 patients with chronic dermatoses. Results. Age and gender composition, social affiliation, level of education and material security of patients were studied in the article. Among respondents 55.1% had any chronic diseases, some respondents (9.6%) felt sick even in the absence of a chronic disease. At the same time 18.6% of respondents indicated that they visit a dermatologist more than twice a year, and 36.5% of respondents visit a specialist twice a year. Patients with low medicinal activity indicated different reasons for that fact, and the most frequent reasons were the lack of need to visit (47.1%) and the lack of free time (24.3%), followed by insufficient qualification of a doctor and the lack of desire to visit the clinic (6.4% respectively), as well as distrust of the doctor. Conclusion. When analyzing gender differences in assessing their own health status, it was found that men had a slightly higher opinion of their health than women. As a rule respondents, if necessary, turned to a dermatovenerologist but not self-medicating.
