Abstract
A regular physical exercise has beneficial effects for health. But very few people think about the negative impact of physical exercise on health, hence the negative impact of this still needs to be investigated. Athletes often do excessive physical exercise to prepare for the championship or a match in a short time. Heavy physical exercise will result in the excessive expenditure of free radicals that can cause damage to the wall of endothelial cells of the blood vessel and ultimately contribute to the emergence of many chronic diseases, muscle damage and immune function reduction. In this study, we investigate the effect of submaximal exercise on muscle tissue and vascular endothelium damage on athletes which is indicated by F2-isoprostane and IL-6blood plasma levels of 17 soccer students of PPLP West Sumatra. Examination of F2-isoprostane and IL-6 plasma performed using ELISA method. Blood was drawn before and after submaximal exercise with a multi-stage test run. The result showed there is a very significant influence on F2-isoprostane and IL-6 plasma levels after submaximal exercise on the student of PPLP West Sumatra with p <0.05.
