Abstract
This article presents an improvement to a mechanism for knee injury recovery. For this, the linear slider was changed for a curved slider to ensure movement through the desired trajectory for the knee and ankle. The Particle Swarm Optimization technique (PSO) was used. PSO is a meta-heuristic technique based on the social behavior of individuals within a group by analyzing their interrelationships. This process is used to optimize the synthesis of a mechanism designed to implement exercises that allow the rehabilitation and strengthening of the muscle groups that are affected during the typical knee injuries, this mechanism was designed taking into consideration the analysis of videos recorded during physical recovery therapy of patients, which were subsequently analyzed by a specialized sports software, where information on the trajectory and position of the patient's different joints and lower extremities could be obtained.
