Abstract
The article is devoted to review of annalistic characteristics in the opera of "The Maid of Pskov" by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov ? one of outstanding samples of the Russian historical opera of the XIX century. Referring to the chronicle ? to a genre of the ancient Russian literature, the characteristic features further considered in the opera work of Rimsky-Korsakov are defined. The conclusions of the annalistic nature of musical thinking of Rimsky-Korsakov that is shown in the relevant annalistic decision of the first opera of the composer became the result.
