Abstract
The article shows that the dynamic development of physical culture and sports as a branch of non- material production is one of the most significant phenomena of modern socio-economic development. It is not- ed that everywhere there is a steady growth in the number of sports organizations, sports clubs, sports facilities and infrastructure, and a healthy lifestyle is actively promoted. With the development of society, physical activi- ty and sports increasingly penetrate into all areas of people's lives, and become an integral part of the life of world civilization. The article also focuses on the fact that the sport of higher achievements has been developing at a gigantic pace in recent decades, gradually turning into an entire industry of sports and entertainment events
