Abstract
This study aimed to utilize Outcome-Based Education in the swimming program and in determining how it increases intelligence quotients of swimming students as well as enhance the swimming program. It employed a descriptive-correlational research design and simple random sampling. The research study was conducted in Ateneo de Manila University with a sample size of 110 first year and second year college students currently enrolled in the regular PE swimming subject on the second semester SY 2018-2019. Students' ages range between 17 to 21 years old. A researcher-made questionnaire and a standardized IQ test - Culture Fair Intelligence Test was used. Results of the study revealed that the students highly agreed that their teacher explains the intended learning outcomes of the swimming activities (WM=4.79); that their teacher helps them improve their learning process and performance in their activities (WM=4.81), and that their teacher reinforces their efforts in learning and correct their performances (WM= 4.84). Overall, the students had High Average IQ. No significant relationship was found between the OBE key areas on Learning Outcomes and Assessment of Student performance while there is significant relationship between the OBE key area on Teaching and Learning Activities and intelligence quotients of the swimming students.
