DEVELOPMENT AND VALİDATİON OF MODULES ON NATİONALİSTİC LEADERSHİP YOUTH TRAİNİNG İN SCHOOL AND COMMUNİTY

Abstract
The study focused on the development and validation of modules on nationalistic leadership youth training for the youth leaders of the school and community. Specifically, the study attempted to identify the indicators or attributes of nationalistic leadership, develop modules on nationalistic leadership based on the indicators identified, validate the module on nationalistic leadership youth training program in the school and community, and try-out the module among teachers and students. The descriptive-development method of research was utilized. In the development and validation of the modules, the following procedure was used: Development Stage, Validation Stage, and Try- out Stage, Revision Stage and Finalization Stage The training was conducted at Mariano Marcos Memorial High School, 2090 Carreon Street, Sta. Ana, Manila with four teachers and twenty student respondents. The six modules were conducted for two days from 8:00 AM to 5:00 P.M. and the remaining two modules were held in different days and places of the same school and each module was tried out for three hours. Eight modules were developed based on the eight indicators of nationalistic leadership such as Fairness to all, Work competence, Intelligence, Goal, National Pride, Sincere Commitment, Caring for Life and individual and Faith in God. The module of each indicator was developed based on the PNC-ACES Approach. All the parts of the modules were rated as accepted by six experts. The comments and suggestions were considered in the revision of the module. The revised modules were tried out to the students with four teachers as observers. The revised modules were evaluated by four teachers and twenty students after the try-out and all modules were rated all are attained by the students and teachers. The data of the observation notes, group interview and students' and teachers' comments were collected after the try-out and the results were all favorable that the modules were revised and finalized. The researcher recommends to develop more modules on nationalistic leadership training not only for the youth but also for adult; to find and study new approach for nationalistic leadership youth training; to discuss indicators of nationalistic leadership in Social Studies and Values Education; to prepare new instrument for the training in determining the learning gained by the students ; to utilize the module in Barangays and schools regularly and to have group dynamics for the youth training program to enhance different skills that needed in the period of globalization.
