Typization of corrective pedagogues on the basis of professional and personal qualities

Abstract

The results of the experimental work on studying the professional and personal qualities of correctional pedagogues in the context of studying psychology of professional consciousness are covered in the scientific paper. The author presents the arguments of relevance of implementing this direction of scientific work, establishes the connection of professional and personal qualities of the correctional pedagogue with such categories as professional consciousness, professional competence, professional development. The analytical review of scientific achievements on the problem of typization of pedagogues has allowed identifying such types of correctional pedagogues as correctional pedagogue-«educator», correctional pedagogue-«volunteer», correctional pedagogue-«administrator», correctional pedagogue-«communicator», correctional pedagogue-«professional». The types presented are oriented to the degree and nature of the manifestation of intellectual, moral-ethical, pedagogical, methodological, reflexive and other personality traits, their attitude to performing their professional duties. The results of the study of professional and personal qualities, covered in the paper, have been obtained during the survey of correctional pedagogues of three categories: students of MA courses, young specialists with experience up to five years of working, specialists with working experience of 10–15 years. The results obtained for each age category of the examinees are clearly presented not only in the relevant table but also in the drawing, which is necessary to trace the dynamics of changes in professional and personal qualities at different stages of professional activity. Not only the positive but also the negative changes have been identified, they have necessitated the raising of the issue of possible occurrence of professional deformities, ways of overcoming them and prevention. The results of the study of professional and personal qualities presented in the paper are represented by the author as the data, which should be the basis for developing the program of formation of professional consciousness of the correctional pedagogue, oriented on improving the results of professional activity and professional growth of the specialist.
