Abstract
In the present paper, Near Death Experiences (NDEs) are exami-ned from the perspective of psychology of religion. Within this fra-mework, the aim is to shed light on NDEs' basic features as well as the psychosocial attitudes observed during pre-, mid- and post-ex-perience which have profound effects that change the experiencers' religious beliefs and psychological states. The study does not only include relevant concept analysis and NDE literature but also bears an original approach thanks to the data collected by qualitative re-search models adopted through interviews. A total of 13 near death experiencers selected using purposive sampling methods and con-tacted through the snowball technique were interviewed.In con-sequence of the research while the findings related to the beliefs, personality types, psychological states before NDE obtained about pre-experience; the cognitive, affective, paranormal and trans-cendental components obtained about mid-experience and lastly, differences in belief, personality, view for death and after-life are obtained about post-experience.
