Several leading tendencies common to Ukraine and EU countries have been identified: improving the legal framework; communication between institutions in order to solve problems of combating economic crimes; analytical systems are being introduced and developed to accelerate financial investigations; corruption, bribery and appropriation of property are the most common economic crimes in EU and Ukraine that are integrated into the international environment. The article identifies new brisk growth of the legal framework in Ukraine and minor changes in EU legislation with a focus on the development of analytical systems; in contradistinction to Ukraine, combating corruption is more effective in EU countries, however, it differs significantly from EU countries and requires more attention from governments authorities.
