Extra-budgetary demand on research and development: assessment of regional distribution

This paper is focused on the problem of the regional distribution of scientific capacity. The data on budgetary and extra-budgetary expenditures on research provide a basis for the analysis. In this context, the authors test the statistical significance of geographical proximity between producers and consumers of R&D results.
