Abstract
Antimicrobial prophylaxis (AMP) use not only can increase the prevalence of antibiotic resistant strains, but also can negatively affect an institution's antibiotic budget. This prospective study aims to assess Queen Alia Heart Institute (QAHI) physicians' awareness of referral international guidelines regarding AMP in cardiac surgery and to find out obstacles against adherence to these guidelines.
