Abstract
The article studies the formation and development of modern and postmodern culture, the views of man and his essence on the views of philosophical schools and philosophers, which contributed to its development. Also analyzed are the findings of aesthetic, historical, liberal, functional approaches aimed at determining the postmodern image of man
