GEOSTRATEGIC VALUE OF STRAITS AND SEA CORRIDORS FOR CHINA PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC (PRC)

This article analyzes the importance of straits and sea corridors in the foreign policy of the People's Re- public of China. The author explores the geostrategic significance of the three main straits, which may be important for China's foreign policy now. The development of the Chinese fleet and the control of the sea straits – is a key factor in the growing influence of China in Asia. Protection and control of the straits is also an important condition for China to gain an advantage in the Asian Pacific region. As a conclusion, the author wants to confirm the im- portant geopolitical importance of the straits and sea corridors for China's foreign policy in XXI century
