Abstract
The article examines current issues related to the theory and practice of the formation and functioning of the residential real estate market in Russia. The characteristic features of the modern Russian housing market have been considered. Recommendations on the formation of a full-fledged rental sector of the residential real estate market and the creation of conditions for the development of the non-profit housing rental market have been proposed.
