FRAMEWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE COVID-19 RESPONSES

Abstract
It can surely be assumed that the recent outbreak of the Covid-19 will have a detrimental impact not only on the economy, but also on the tourism industry. This paper proposes a framework that can be used to assess the effectiveness of government responses that has been made to sustain the tourism industry during the pandemic. The paper took ideas from several credible sources including the World Tourism Organization and other published research papers. We examined that a government response that can help sustain the tourism industry during the pandemic should take into consideration several aspects such as people, economy, culture, and community of the country. The framework was then used to assess the responses made by the Philippines government in trying to mitigate the negative impact of Covid-19 on the tourism industry of the country.
