Abstract
The current paper attempts to understand the bellow designing process with temperature and pressure variations to understand bellow heat transmitting capacity for application in industries such as automobile, aerospace, and aviation. In this report, the fundamental mechanical properties of SS301, liner and non-liner bellows behaviour are analysed. The thermo-structural analysis is performed to observe directional heat flux and heat flux acting on non-liner and liner bellows. The static structural analysis has been performed to observe directional and total deformation acting on liner and non-liner bellows. Material simulations are carried out using ANSYS-15 workbench software, design and modelling was performed in SYMENS-NX10. The results of the simulation indicate for liner two end fixed bellow, the total deformation is low when compared to one end fixed liner bellow. For non-liner two end fixed bellow, the total deformation is low when compared to non-liner one end fixed bellow. This simulation helps to understand material stability, pressure retaining capacity and temperature transmission from one end to other end of bellow.
