Abstract
A flow behavior with the effect of magnetic field on square shaped cavity filled up with Cu-water nanofluid in porous matrix is analysed in this study. The study is carried out for uniform and sinusoidally distributed thermal left boundary. Nanofluid flow in a cavity is designed mathematically using a set of governing equations, which is non-dimensionalized and solved along with the necessary boundary conditions. Finite difference technique is incorporated to discretization of equation in a fixed domain. The flow patterns are discussed using ψ (streamlines), θ (Isotherms), П (Heatlines) and ϕ (Iso-concentration). Variation of average Nusselt number is discussed for various values of Hartmann number, Rayleigh number, Lewis number, Brownian motion parameter, thermophoresis parameter and Darcy number. An enhancement of flow circulation and heat transfer is found in uniformly heated thermal boundary compared with the sinusoidally heated left boundary.
