Abstract
Hydroplaning is one of the important function for driving safely on wet roads. It is a convolute phenomenon that happens between tire deformation and water present on the roads. Because of the hydroplaning many accidents occurred in Formula 1 motor sport when there are wet conditions on tracks. The Formula 1 motor sport Pirelli Intermediate tyre hydroplaning simulation is done here considering different tread depths and constant water depth on Formula 1 tracks. By this result, Intermediate tyre with large tread depth can reduce hydroplaning function. Simulation is performed in ANSYS 19.2 Explicit Dynamics module using Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian(CEL) is the approach to simulate fluid-structure interaction.
