Abstract
The article examines such leading factors in the evolution of Christianity in the modern world as secu- larization, globalization and demographic processes. The contradictory influence of these factors on the pro- spects for the evolution of Christianity is revealed. On the one hand, their action leads to the erosion of Christian identity and the fall of the authority of church institutions, the weakening of the role of the Christian religion in society, competition within Christianity and conflicts with other religions. On the other hand, under their influ- ence in the post-secular society, interest in the Christian tradition is revived as one of the ways to solve the prob- lems of human existence and a symbol of national-state identity, a dialogue of Christianity with alternative worldviews is developing
