Abstract
The given paper claims the idea that politically correct words and phrases of the English language are simulacra. It gives the analysis of one of the most widespread politically correct terms ? special children. On the basis of definition analysis, using the terminological apparatus of semiotics and logic, the author reveals the linguistic mechanism underlying the simulative potential of politically correct words and phrases of the English language.
