Abstract
The coronavirus pandemic has changed how millions around the globe are educated. Distance learning in the system of higher education presents language teachers and students with a brand new set of challenges, opportunities and practical realities. This article explores the ways in which teachers might adapt their practices in response to the new learning environment. The article investigates the main difficulties to the effective im- plementation of modern distance learning technologies in the university teaching and learning process and pro- poses ways to address these issues
