Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly transformed how we work, socialize, and communicate. The things have drastically changed on an unexpected scale. The guidelines of social distancing proposed by our governments and health institutions ensued the closing of schools, and all types of business organisations. This has resulted in disconcerted of individual brains and the importance of understanding the level of unexpected changes has become very important. These unprecedented changes have brought challenges not only all kinds of societies but also to the leadership of the organisation. In the current scenario, it is not expected that normalcy will be attained anytime soon. This paper helps in understanding the changes in leadership dimensions of governments and organisations in correspondence to problems resulting due to COVID-19 pandemic.Researcher also suggests certain leadership styles, which can help leaders thrive and survive in this global crisis. When it comes to leadership, adaptation, and acting quickly and taking harsh decisions is the new reality to bring new normal, as well as handling things with a little compassion and empathy. It is very important to understand the essence of leadership as this can lead to a transformation of organisations and societies
