Analysis on Mechanical Properties of AA7178- Al2o3 Composites in Hot Rolling Technique Using Tahuchi Method

Abstract
In this present work Al 7178 is a metal which is reinforced with Al2o3 particle using with stir casting method. The reinforcement particle were preheated to temperature of 400oC and mixed in liquid Al7178 alloy. The composite liquid was poured into die and prepared a plate shaped castings. The casting were machined and fed into hot rolling machine for plastic deformation. Effect of the process factors such as inlet thickness, speed of rollers, % of a thickness reduction and temperature of Al composites during in hot rolling technique. Taguchi design o experiments have been conducted to optimise the process parameters which influence on rolling force. Hardness and microstructure analysis of Al 7178 metal matrix specimens were tested in this investigation.
