Methods of research are based on complex application of general scientifi c and special scientifi c methods, namely the analysis of sources of the scientifi c and technical information, carrying out experiment and systematization of data. The scientifi c novelty is to improve the methodology of selection of disinfectants that can be used to prevent the appearance of molds and approved for use in Ukraine, for the premises of archival and special institutions in which the production, accumulation and storage of fi lm and photo documents are made. The conclusions determine that the proposed principles of selection of disinfectants for use in the premises of archival and special institutions in which the production, accumulation and storage of fi lm, photographic documents, allowed to analyze the properties of various active substances and select for further research disinfectants as active substances contain Quaternary ammonium compounds, guanidine, alkylamines, aldehydes and alcohols. It is also established that disinfectants based on active substances containing halogens or oxygen, can not be used for disinfection of premises in which the production, accumulation and storage of fi lm and photo documents, if any.
