STUDYING POETRY WITH BILINGUALS IN A RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CLASS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of studying poetic texts of Russian writers in Russian language classes with natural bilingualism. The aim of our research was to justify, develop and experimentally test the methodology of teaching students to read lyrics, taking into account the peculiarities of perception of fiction texts in Russian by bilingual schoolchildren living outside Russia. The work considers the stages of studying lyrics and skills, which are formed in the process of working on artworks on the example of V. Mayakovsky's poem “Good Attitudes towards Horses” and its translations into Greek by translators Georgios Moleskis and Petros Anteos, and also substantiates the effectiveness of the methodology used. The relevance of the study is due to the under-representation in pedagogical literature of the justification for the development of the language competence of bilingualism through literary texts by Russian poets in Russian language lessons. Including translations of poems from the first language of bilinguals to their second language contributes to a deeper immersion in the text, a better understanding of the original, and makes a significant contribution to the linguistic and literary development of bilingual schoolchildren in general, increasing their motivation to learn Russian. The proposed technology for working with this genre includes getting acquainted with the cultural-historical context of the work; identifying difficulties associated with misunderstanding the lexical meaning of words and solving problematic issues; searching for key words; reading translations and comparing them with the original with respect to the melody of the texts, artistic imagery, ideas; comparing translations with each other and determining the level of preservation of the author's position, the degree to which they correspond to the idea component of the original text; own translation of the source text. The proposed method of working with the poetic texts in the Russian language lessons with bilinguals can be included in the manuals on reading, analysis and interpretation of lyrics for bilingual schoolchildren, as well as serve as a model for the construction and implementation of various types of lessons related to work on poetic texts on the material of any language with bilingual schoolchildren, contributing to the development of an important skill of interpretation of the culture of the first language in the context of the culture of the second language of bilinguals.
