Abstract
In this article, we will focus on scrutinizing the problematic of symbolic violence in Bourdieu's sociology, by considering the scope and peculiar aspects of symbolic violence. ln most of his theoretical and field studies, Bourdieu uses the concept of symbolic violence. ln Bourdieu's sociology symbolic violence is mostly seen in schools, in daily life manners and in the regimes of domination between women and men. ln this context, Bourdieu aims at revealing the unequalizing structure of schools as an important part of education system; showing the ways people follow to differentiate themselves from others in their daily life manners; scrutinizing the male domination system in the relations between women and men. ln this article, at first, Bourdieu's distinctive theoretical perspective within the discipline of sociology is taken into consideration in order to apprehend the basic context of symbolic violence. Then, the connections between the concept of symbolic violence and habitus, field, cultural capital and symbolic capital are discussed. Lastly, the manifesto one of symbolic violence is considered with regard to certain studies.
