The article considers the relevance of dividing of a sentence the English sentence in journalistic-style texts. One of the language categories that contribute to the transmission of the meaning of a message is the actual division of the sentence, which, in turn, can be implemented by prosodic features, which determines the relevance of this topic of the article. Actual sentence division-the division of a sentence in the context into the original part of the message-the topic (given) and what is stated about it — the REM (new). The subject of the research is the division of the English sentence in journalistic-style texts. The purpose of the article is to analyze the division of the English sentence in journalistic-style texts.
