Abstract

The Islamic Sharia is concerned with the principle of interdependence among members of the whole society without distinction between races and its various spectrums, even if they are not Muslims. It called for righteousness and charity even with its violators. This study is entitled: "The Role of Endowments Shared between Muslims and Christians in the Service of the General Purposes of the Endowment” which would contribute to projecting a bright image of the role of Waqf at present and the great role it plays in the comprehensive development in accordance with the requirements of individuals in the Arab-Muslim societies by establishing the legitimacy of joint endowments between Muslims and Christians, and organizing the related provisions. The researcher collected the sayings of the religion jurists in the doctrinal issues related to Christians in endowment, from the approved jurisprudential sources. Then he studied them as required by the methodology of comparative jurisprudence studies . The researcher found that the endowment for Christians is based on a set of pillars and purposes sought by the nonMuslim, which is based on some aspects where the work of righteousness such as spending on the poor and the needy, and the treatment of patients in need. The researcher presents an endowment experience (Welcome trust). At the end of the study, there are a number of conclusions and recommendations
