PROBABLE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 (NEW CORONAVIRUS) PANDEMIC ON TOURISM SECTOR

Abstract
Tourism is a sector which is affected by current fluctuations fast. The recent Covid-19 (the New Coronavirus) pandemic has affected the whole world. This epidemic, which affects the social and economic structure of the countries, also affects the tourism sector. Destination image and perception of security are the most important reasons why tourists choose a country. As Coronavirus poses a threat to countries, it is thought that it may lead to some changes in image and perception of security as to destination. In this study, general information on Covid-19 is involved, the effects of Covid-19 on tourism sector is tackled and predictions are made about probable changes and innovations that may occur in tourism sector after Covid-19. A thought in which a new period would begin in tourism sector and contact-free digital transactions, social distance tours and isolated holidays would be on the foreground is expressed.
