Abstract

This article outlines the psychological characteristics of the relationship of emotional intelligence and creativity of students. The definition of key concepts is considered and the results of theoretical and empirical scientific investigations of the presented problems are analyzed. It is emphasized that at the stage of its development modern Ukrainian society is in a state of transformation, experiencing the influence of various triggers: political instability, economic crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic. In such unstable conditions, the individual tries to avoid the influence of these triggers, seeks to maintain the existence and maintain their own mental health. It is noted that the key aspects of positive transformations of student youth and their rapid adaptation to the changing conditions of today are psychological readiness for change, developed emotional intelligence, personal creativity, critical thinking, the desire to maintain mental health and more. All this is necessary for the successful completion of life and educational tasks of the student. The relevance of maintaining and developing the relationship between emotional intelligence and student creativity is described. Theoretical and practical analysis shows that intellectual ability is the basis for new ideas, seeing the problem from different angles, overcoming the boundaries of everyday consciousness, the ability to convince others of the value of their ideas, and the tool of this intellectual process is creative and emotional potential. It is determined that students have a basis for the development of creative potential through experiencing new emotional states and generating new emotions and new creative ideas. It is noted that the level of such ability depends on the degree of novelty, changes in the forms of standard emotions that the student experiences in the process of studying at the university.
