Abstract
Sufi literature has a wide content that includes didactic elements. Such literary works contain tales with counsel content aimed at education and training. In addition to these stories, which are used as oral communication tools, sometimes silence and pauses are used in literary works as a communication and educational tool. Mawlana, who is a versatile poet and also known as an instructor, has mostly included moral and mystical teachings in his works. Silence is one of the many important attributes in his works. Because, according to him, silence is much more valuable than verbal and verbal communication. The poet sees silence as an effevtive means of communication. In the poem of Mawlana, silence is used as a form of communication as a method of expressing meaning that cannot be conveyed by words and cannot be described. This form of silence is a more effective and deeper form of expression that makes more sense than words. In this study, the communicative silence that Mawlana frequently uses in his works will be explained with examples of couplets.
