Abstract

The adaptation of the center of conflict to the geography of areas rich in hydrocarbon reserves is one of the main frameworks of the hegemonic policy of the economic-industrial powers to increase their economic and commercial interests, and to implement it they use the tools of religious radicalism, which leads to internal turmoil and socio-political instability in energy-rich countries. In this regard, the Chechen Republic has an important geopolitical position due to its proximity to energy-rich regions and its transit route from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea, thus creating an environment for the formation of crisis and violence. Therefore, in this article, with an analytical-descriptive method, we discuss the role and impact of energy geopolitics in the crisis and conflicts stemming from religious radicalism and extremist fundamentalism in the Chechen Republic. Finally, the paper hypothesizes that religious radicalism, as the most important means of controlling the geography of energy-rich regions and their transit routes, plays a significant role in creating a crisis in the Chechen Republic and spreading violence to the periphery.
