IMPROVE CAPACITY FOR CHILD PROTECTION OFFICERS ON PREVENTION AND SUPPORT OF SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILDREN: EVIDENCE IN VIETNAM

Abstract
Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a universal problem, which is reported worldwide, as well as in Vietnam, including Bac Kan province. This paper aims to explore perceptions on causes, forms, myths, context and perpetrators of child sexual abuse in Bac Kan, Vietnam. 15 in-depth interviews were conducted among adults including local authorities, parents, teachers and neighbor of the victims to find out factors related to child sexual abuse and solutions to address this issue. Basing on that results, we suggest propose solutions to improve of social work capacity for children protection officer on prevention and support of sexually abused children.
