Abstract
The aim of this paper to rank & classify the impact factors of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on the Indian insurance sector using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. Here the methodology based upon secondary data using AHP to classify FDI's main impact factors on Indian Insurance to detect, which factor is the highest and which factor is the lowest, i.e. (1st to 9
th). Therefore, the AHP used secondary data results such as R2 , “P” and “F” value, and hypothesis findings which is the result of another previous analysis in its research during the impact study of FDI on the Indian Insurance Industry. Here the focus of the study relies on the fact that between nine sub-factors under two key factors such as profitability and productivity of insurance firms, which have the greatest effect of FDI along with its relative weightage. The outcome of this research may be of interest to Foreign Institutional Institutions (FIIs), IRDA, RBI, Insurers, and other policymakers who are key role players in the emerging financial market of India. Besides, this study will also be helpful to the homogeneous researcher for doing a comparative analysis to provide a new dimension in the area of FDI impact assessment in the Indian scenario.
