Abstract
An entrepreneur is a risk taker, self-confident, innovative, leader etc. who establish an economic enterprise. The entry of women in entrepreneurial field is a sign of development of women empowerment and at the same time it is a challenge to the assigned gender role of the patriarchal society. Since according to gendered role earning money is not for women they should perform their care taker role of the family and the household activities. From their early childhood they are socialized in that way so that they articulate the feminine gendered role assigned by the patriarchal society. They are engaged in productive works of the family but it's not valued and they are not remunerated. But in the present time, due to some changing perception of the society, women also entered in the field of earning and some of them established their own enterprise. In that case it is very significant to analyze the socio economic background of the women entrepreneurs that encouraged them to enter in this field and the problems that encountered by women entrepreneurs in order to reach the level of success of their enterprise.
