Abstract
The Indian government is trying its best to ease the exercise of doing business in India. Notifying the Commission about any particular transaction is an expensive affair. The filing requires extensive econometrical analysis alongside application of complex legal principles. Very few law firms in India have their expertise on this niche practice area. Therefore, the Commission must try and simplify the processes involved. The position on joint venture is very clear however, the law relating to demerger is evolving steadily
