The development of “Ukrainian literary Baroque” concept as underestimated page of S. I. Maslov’s scientific biography

Abstract
The work on the Baroque issue uncovers unstudied page of S. I. Maslov's scientific biography. The last period of his scientific career – 1940-1950-es – S. I. Maslov dedicated to exploration of the Baroque style influence on texts of Ukrainian literature. In personal reflections the scientist was guided by conclusions of reachable for him domestic and foreign explorations of the Baroque stylistic features and his own knowledge of old Ukrainian literature. In notes from scientist's personal archive the Baroque style presented as complex achievement of national culture, the stylistic features of which may be extrapolated to wholemassive of 17–18th cc. Ukrainian literature monuments. At the same time in his publications of this period, part of which was unreachable to the reader, described in bounds of Marxists approach Ukrainian literary Baroque is widened to formal experiments in oratorical prose, school drama and poetry. Undoubted contribution of S. I. Maslov in development of Ukrainian Baroque studies is the fact that, in spite of censor limits, he managed to develop a concept of “Ukrainian literary Baroque” as representation of national culture upgrowth. The creation of positiveattitude to Ukrainian literary Baroque phenomenon precedent became a precondition to extension of the Baroque style explorations in Soviet, and later – in post-Soviet literary study. Unpublished conclusions on the Baroque, preserved in personal archive of the scientist, may be used for complex exploration of the Baroque style influence to Ukrainian book culture of 17-18th cc.
