Participation of the NAS associate member P. M. Popov in preparation of the academic publication of T. H. Shevchenko’s writings in ten volumes (on basis of documents from personal archive fund of the Institute of Manuscript of VNLU)

Abstract
In the article, based on the research of the sources of the personal fund 285 of the Institute of Manuscript of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine (Kyiv), illuminated the participation of the prominent scientist, literary critic, art critic and folklorist, biographer and editor of works of T. Shevchenko, corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine P. Popov in preparation for the publication of the fundamental edition “T. Shevchenko. Complete edition of ten volumes”. The analysis of the informative potential of different types of documents – working materials, correspondence, documents of a scholar on issues relatedto the organization of publication and related scientific materials made itpossible to reveal the main stages of the scientist's work as a member of the governmental editorial board. The greatest informative value on directions and forms of activity of P. Popov as a scientist is reflected in the working models of the prepared volumes of the academic collection of works by T. Shevchenko, the remarks on the texts prepared by the compilers and the reference apparatus of the volumes of the academic edition of the works of T. Shevchenko, recordings made when reconciling T. Shevchenko's printed works with autographs, etc. The informationrevealed in the correspondence of P. Popov with the staff of the Institute of Literature named after T. Shevchenko, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, on the issues discussed by the editorial board and the stages of editing the prepared volumes. The paper also presents the documents on the problematic issues, in particular, the most important is the manuscript of an article in the “Soviet Ukraine” newspaper “Under the Threat of Disruption” (1962) on the delay of the publication of T. Shevchenko's works in ten volumes.
