Abstract
This study makes a comparison between solar photo Fenton and TiO2 mediated solar photo-Fenton treatment processes to decolorize Sudan IV dye solution. The effect of concentration of operating parameters, such as Fe (II), TiO2, H2O2 and the solution pH have been studied. Results indicate that both the processes are efficient at optimal conditions in decolorizing Sudan IV dye solution and proved to be sustainable solution for treating industrial effluents due to the employment of natural solar radiation. The key benefit of the TiO2 mediated solar photo Fenton process over the solar photo Fenton process is the operating pH and irradiation period. However TiO2 mediated solar photo Fenton process is expensive than solar photo Fenton process due to high cost of TiO2.
