Abstract
The aim of the study is to investigate the level of motivation of VIII grade learners in the study of Social Science through constructivist approach. The study comprised of 600 VIII grade learners selected from two districts namely Lakhimpur and Dhemaji district of Assam. In India, the constructivist approach has been given importance in the National Curriculum Framework for School Education-2005 (NCFSE-2005). The results of the study indicated that constructivist approach worked well with the learners in the study of Social Science. It has a positive effect on the level of motivation of learners in learning the Social Science.
