Abstract
The importance of localization of unknown sensor nodes in WSN is an emerging area due to the wide use of applications. Hence in this paper, an advanced DistanceVector algorithm is proposed to improve the localization or positional accuracy of unknown sensor nodes. The proposed algorithm is an enhancement over traditional over classical Distance Vector algorithm. The main goal of this algorithm is minimize the error generated during the calculation of average hop size value with the help of minimum mean square error method. And further improvement in positional accuracy of sensor node is maintained by using WLS algorithm, by considering the distance between anchor nodes and unknown sensor nodes. Simulation results are generated by using MATLAB and the localization accuracy or error compared with classical DVhop, improved method by changing the parameters like radius of communication of nodes, density of sensor nodes and percentage of anchor counts.
