Abstract
The current work helps in assessing the vocal features and the phonetic structures in the production of different speech segments such as retroflex, bilabials and dentals in Kannada language. The vocal spectral features are extracted by measuring the formants for different speech segments used in the analysis. This information is helpful in developing speech recognition and speaker recognition system. In this work, analysis is performed on the bisyllabic words such as /ಪದ - p ಪಟ - p t ದಪ - p ತದ/- t using Linear pre iction metho From this approach, it is able to understand the phonetic process of uttered speech sounds and also to determine the pitch and formant information in normal subjects and subjects with dysarthria in Kannada Language.
